WJU BHL Use Policy for Wheeling Hospital Employees

Wheeling Hospital Collaboration Agreement

Defined Group: Wheeling Hospital Employees must present an Identification Card issued by Wheeling Hospital.

Sign In/Out Policy: “WH Employees” are required to sign in at the library’s circulation desk by entering their name and time of entry to the library. WH user’s are asked to note their time of departure on the log upon exiting the library.

Use Privileges: WH Employees can utlize the library's computers for research purposes during regular library hours. Access to electronic resources is available as a "walk-in" user when using one of the library's computers.

Borrowing Privileges:

  • Maximum of three items can be checked out at one time. Items within the library's Reference, Bishop Hodges Research Collection, and Foundation Center do not circulate.
  • Items are subject to immediate recall if needed by a WJU student or faculty.
  • Items are expected to be returned by due date.
  • Non-returned/damaged items are subject to replacement and processing costs.

Renewals

Items can be renewed unless another patron has placed a "hold" on the item. Items with a "hold" cannot be renewed. Items, without a "hold", may be renewed as needed.

Returning Items

Patrons are asked to return all items to the Circulation Desk when the library is open. The library does have a book drop that can be utilized when the library is closed. Patrons are advised not to leave items checked out on tables in the library as these items are not considered returned.

Overdue Items

WJU Library Items: The Library expects all patrons to return borrowed items in a timely fashion. The Library does not charge fines, but does issue "overdue" notices. See Non-Returned Items below.

Non-Returned/Damaged Items

WJU Library items not returned within four weeks of the due date or returned damaged, will be subject to replacement charges. Replacement charges are calculated by adding the cost of the item plus a $10 processing fee.

Printing: Printing is available. The cost is $.05 cents per double sided page. Payment is based upon the honor system and should be given to library personnel at the circulation desk.


 

Wheeling Hospital Jepson Library Use Policy for WJU Employees

Wheeling Jesuit University Collaboration Agreement

Defined Group: Wheeling Jesuit students in clinical rotations, Staff and Faculty, must present an Identification Card issued by Wheeling Jesuit when entering the Wheeling Hospital Medical Library.

Sign In/Out Policy: Authorized Wheeling Jesuit borrowers are required to sign in at the library’s circulation desk and are asked to note their time of departure on the log upon exiting the library.

Use Privileges: Wheeling Jesuit borrowers can utilize the library computers for research purposes during regular library hours. A “Computer Access” form will need to be completed in order to access Wheeling Hospital computers. Access to electronic resources is available as a "walk-in" user when using one of the library's computers.

Reference Services: The Wheeling Hospital Library Director will provide reference services for Wheeling Jesuit students who are currently in a clinical rotation.
