Association of College and Research Libraries: Information Literacy Framework

The ACRL (Association of College and Research Libraries) came up with six interconnected concepts or fames for defining information literacy:

  1. Authority is Constructed and Contextual
  2. Information Creation as a Process
  3. Information has Value
  4. Research as Inquiry
  5. Scholarship as Conversation
  6. Searching as Strategic Exploration


Information Literacy Sandbox

The Information Literacy Sandbox is "a place to discover ways to use the Framework in instructional settings, as well as share your own activities and teaching resources related to the Framework."

AAC & U VALUE Rubric for Information Literacy

"The VALUE rubrics were developed by teams of faculty experts representing colleges and universities across the United States through a process that examined many existing campus rubrics and related documents for each learning outcome and incorporated additional feedback from faculty."
